Recent polling in Minas Gerais, a pivotal swing state, shows Lula (PT) leading first-round voting intentions with 31-44% support across September 2026 surveys from Quaest, AtlasIntel, and Real Time, ahead of Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) at 27-35%. This gap underpins trader consensus favoring Lula for first place, reflecting his incumbency advantage and consistent statewide edge despite narrower second-round margins. Flávio Bolsonaro's secondary positioning stems from his role as the main opposition figure tied to prior administration networks, though rising support for names like Escritor Augusto Cury and Romeu Zema (Novo) fragments the field without threatening the top two. Low probabilities for other listed candidates align with their minimal measured support in the latest data.
