Flavio Bolsonaro maintains a commanding lead in Rio Grande do Sul voter surveys for first-round presidential voting on October 4, reflecting sustained regional preference for the PL senator over other contenders. Multiple state-level polls through September show him ahead or in technical ties with Lula in the first round and holding clear edges in runoff simulations, driven by consistent right-leaning sentiment and elevated rejection ratings for the incumbent administration. Lower support for names such as Augusto Cury, Renan Santos, Ronaldo Caiado, and others aligns with their single-digit national and regional readings. The first-round format, requiring a majority or top-two advancement, and the proximity of election day concentrate trader focus on these polling patterns and any late shifts in gaúcho preferences.
