If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket.Recent oversupply from post-2025 avian influenza flock rebuilding continues to anchor U.S. retail egg prices near recent levels, with the July 2026 BLS average at $2.19 per dozen. Wholesale benchmarks have fallen sharply to around $0.62 per dozen in mid-August amid elevated layer numbers and productivity gains that outpace steady demand, pressuring margins for producers while supporting the market-implied concentration in the $2.10–$2.30 range. Trader consensus reflects these supply dynamics and limited near-term outbreak risks, though any renewed HPAI detections or seasonal demand shifts could alter the path before the August BLS release.
