Argentina's August 2026 consumer price index rose 1.7% month-over-month per INDEC data released September 10, landing squarely in the 1.5-1.7% range that commands near-certain market-implied odds. Traders priced in this outcome based on the continuation of gradual disinflation from July's 2.1% print, supported by subdued seasonal price pressures, stable core inflation near 1.8%, and year-to-date accumulation of 21.3%. Housing and education components contributed modestly while clothing posted declines, aligning with analyst forecasts around 1.7% and central bank expectations for sustained moderation. A surprise upside in regulated prices or sharper seasonal spikes could have tested the bounds, though such shifts would require material deviations from observed trends in services and goods.
