This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next mayor of Vancouver as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting; however, if there is any ambiguity in the results, this market will resolve according to official information from Vancouver.**Ken Sim holds a narrow lead in the Vancouver mayoral race as the ABC Vancouver incumbent facing a consolidated progressive challenge ahead of the October 17 election.** Pete Fry has emerged as the primary opponent after COPE’s Stephanie Allen withdrew on September 2 and OneCity’s William Azaroff exited on September 8, both endorsing Fry to unify left-leaning voters against Sim. Earlier summer polling showed Sim ahead among decided voters (around 30% in one Research Co. survey) while Fry led or tied in others amid 26–34% undecided, with Kareem Allam and Colleen Hardwick also in double digits. Sim’s approval ratings remain underwater, but his established base and the first-past-the-post system support his current market positioning as the frontrunner.
