Angelica Katsanidou, the incumbent Social Democrat chair of Region Kalmar län’s regional board since 2019 and a key figure in the majority coalition with the Centre Party and Left Party, holds the strongest position heading into the 2026 regional election. Trader consensus at 83.5% reflects her established role in regional governance, budget oversight, and coalition stability amid ongoing priorities such as healthcare access and economic management. Opposition figures including Malin Sjölander of the Moderates, positioned at 11.3% after securing her party’s top regional list spot, face structural barriers from the current mandate distribution. Lower-probability candidates and the broad “Other” category at 50% indicate limited differentiation or momentum in available polling and nomination processes. Scheduled election timing and post-vote coalition negotiations remain the primary variables that could shift implied probabilities.
