Temporary, interim, or placeholder Mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known, or no candidate has been elected, by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of the elections as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Taiwanese government, specifically the Central Election Commission (https://db.cec.gov.tw/).Chen Ting-fei holds the strongest position in the Tainan mayoral race due to her selection as the DPP nominee after prevailing in the January 2026 party primary against Lin Chun-hsien, combined with Tainan's established status as a DPP stronghold where the party has held the mayoralty since 2010. Outgoing mayor Huang Wei-che formally handed over support during candidate registration in early September 2026, highlighting cross-party backing and Chen's focus on extending existing policies on welfare, infrastructure, and local pride while pursuing a historic milestone as the city's first female mayor.
