Vjosa Osmani's presidential term concluded on April 4, 2026. Since that date the duties of President of Kosovo have been exercised on an acting basis by the President of the Assembly of Kosovo, pending the election of a new President by the Assembly. This market will resolve to the next individual who begins a full, non-acting term as President of Kosovo after April 4, 2026. To count for resolution, the individual must be elected President by the Assembly of Kosovo and take the presidential oath before the Assembly. Serving as acting, interim, or caretaker President alone will not count toward the resolution of this market, regardless of any change in who exercises those duties. If no such President takes office by April 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution sources for this market will be official information from the Assembly of Kosovo and the Office of the President of Kosovo; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Kosovo’s prolonged institutional deadlock, stemming from Vjosa Osmani’s April 2026 term expiration and repeated failures to secure the required parliamentary quorum, has kept the presidential race fragmented. Recent snap parliamentary elections in June left Vetëvendosje as the largest party without a clear majority, prompting negotiations that produced a late-August agreement between Vetëvendosje and the Democratic League of Kosovo on Bekim Sejdiu, a former Constitutional Court judge and diplomat. Internal LDK dissent from several MPs immediately threatened the 80-vote threshold needed in initial rounds, sustaining uncertainty and raising the prospect of further snap votes. Trader pricing reflects this impasse, with no candidate commanding broad consensus and minority-party support or renewed coalition talks remaining key variables that could shift probabilities before the October constitutional deadline.
