The tight contest between PAM and RNI for the most seats in Morocco’s September 23 legislative elections stems from incumbent fatigue under the RNI-led coalition, recent Gen Z protests over youth unemployment, public services, and living costs, plus intra-coalition tensions exposed by leaks and defections. PAM has countered with a detailed platform emphasizing job creation, purchasing power, and rural priorities, while RNI relies on its territorial networks and record of social programs. Istiqlal and smaller parties remain marginal in trader pricing. Low historical turnout and the proportional system with no threshold further fragment outcomes, leaving separation dependent on final campaign mobilization and rural versus urban voter response.
