Chen Su-yueh holds the leading position in the Changhua County magistrate race due to her established legislative record in the county and the DPP's unified nomination process completed in late 2025. The KMT's May 2026 selection of Wei Ping-cheng, bypassing local contenders amid internal disputes and limited support from incumbent Magistrate Wang Huei-mei, has fragmented pan-blue backing and contributed to his lower standing. Independent candidacies, including Chiu Chien-fu's departure from the DPP in June 2026, add further vote-splitting risks without shifting the overall balance. Recent polls reflect these dynamics, with Chen maintaining a clear lead ahead of the November 28 vote, while low probabilities for remaining entrants align with their limited organizational reach and registration timing.
