Recent polling from late August 2026 shows Manuel Vera Paredes of Fuerza Arequipeña holding a narrow lead in the fragmented field for Arequipa's October 4 mayoral contest, followed by Renzo Salas Herrera of Arequipa, Tradición y Futuro and Ricardo Ramírez del Villar of Renovación Popular. The large number of regional movement and party candidates has kept support divided, with no contender exceeding roughly 25% in available surveys and substantial shares of undecided or dispersed voters sustaining uncertainty. Trader pricing reflects this competitive landscape, where local priorities such as regional development and candidate visibility ahead of the final weeks could shift momentum among the top contenders.
