Recent Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts and supporting model runs indicate a maximum temperature near 29–30°C for Tokyo on September 22, following heavy rainfall and typhoon-related moisture from September 20–21. Clearing skies and reduced cloud cover on the 22nd should allow greater daytime heating, though scattered showers and variable northerly winds may limit peak values. Ensemble spread in guidance creates the tight market split between 29°C and 30°C outcomes, with traders weighting the balance of drier afternoon conditions against residual humidity. Historical late-September baselines near 25–26°C underscore the role of this transient warm-air advection in elevating the expected range. Updated JMA briefings and morning model runs tomorrow will provide the final observational constraints before market resolution.
