Recent U.S. consumer price data showing a modest July rebound to +0.1% month-over-month after June's sharp decline has shaped expectations for August, with energy price stabilization and persistent shelter costs supporting a modest sequential increase. Traders are positioning around outcomes near recent prints amid subdued core trends and easing annual inflation to 3.4%, while monitoring labor market signals and commodity movements ahead of the September 11 release. Market-implied odds reflect consensus on contained pressures consistent with the post-energy spike trajectory, though volatility in gasoline and food components could still influence the final figure.
