The Parti Québécois maintains a steady polling lead of roughly 29 percent ahead of the October 5 election, driven by strong francophone support that translates into projected pluralities in the National Assembly. Recent Léger and Pallas Data surveys show the CAQ gaining modestly under new leader and Premier Christine Fréchette, yet remaining behind amid a divided federalist vote split with the PLQ. Seat models from 338Canada and The Writ assign the PQ an 80 percent or higher probability of winning the most seats, though a majority remains unlikely. The campaign, officially underway after the August 27 dissolution, centers on housing, immigration levels, language protections, and sovereignty questions, with ongoing debates and regional riding dynamics continuing to shape outcomes.
