The closely matched probabilities for Sylvie Tanguay of the Parti Québécois and incumbent Geneviève Hébert of the Coalition Avenir Québec reflect a competitive race in the Saint-François riding ahead of the October 5, 2026, Quebec general election. Recent projections from models such as 338Canada and Qc125 show the PQ leading on popular vote estimates in the low-to-mid 30s percent range, ahead of the CAQ, amid broader provincial shifts following the writ drop on August 27. Tanguay's background as a nurse and health-care focus, Hébert's record on regional investments including hospital projects, and the presence of Liberal Jacqueline Belleau and Québec solidaire's Mia Fréchette add to the contest. Boundary adjustments in Estrie and the approaching nomination deadline on September 17 keep the outcome sensitive to late campaign developments in turnout and voter priorities.
