This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Illinois. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Illinois, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Trader consensus centers on moderate turnout between 4M and 4.5M votes for the November 3, 2026, Illinois U.S. Senate race.** The contest features Democrat Juliana Stratton against Republican Don Tracy in an open seat vacated by retiring Sen. Dick Durbin. Forecasters rate it Solid Democratic with a projected margin near 20 points, which historically limits crossover interest and Republican mobilization in a state that has not elected a GOP senator since 2010. Democratic primary participation reached roughly 1.28 million ballots—nearly 50% above 2022 levels—signaling stronger base engagement tied to national dynamics, yet the general-election campaign has remained low-key with minimal outside spending or high-profile events in recent weeks. Structural factors such as early voting access, no-excuse mail ballots, and typical midterm drop-off from presidential-year participation further anchor expectations around recent off-year benchmarks, while any late surge in get-out-the-vote efforts or shifts in national sentiment could nudge totals toward the upper or lower end of the leading ranges.
