Official observations from Brazilian meteorological agencies, including INMET, recorded a daily maximum of 22°C in São Paulo on September 9 amid persistent cloud cover, light showers, and a cool air mass associated with a passing frontal system. This aligned with the broader early-September pattern of below-average temperatures, as evidenced by multiple stations reporting highs in the low 20s Celsius and overnight lows near 14°C. Market-implied odds reflect this verified data point, with trader consensus anchored in skin-in-the-game assessments of official records rather than forecasts. A realistic challenge could arise only from post-event revisions to station data or differing resolution criteria across monitoring sites, though such adjustments remain uncommon for completed daily maxima.
