This market will resolve according to the location of the next meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. If no meeting takes place by December 31 ET, this market will resolve to "No meeting before 2027". A meeting is defined as any encounter where Zelenskyy and Putin are both present and interact with each other in person. For the purpose of this market, a meeting held on Ukrainian territory under the de facto control of Russia (e.g., Crimea) will be considered part of Russia. The primary resolution source for this market will be a consensus of credible reporting.Persistent deadlock in Russia-Ukraine negotiations, with Moscow insisting on prior agreements on territorial issues and security demands before any direct leader-level engagement, underpins the strong trader consensus that no Zelenskyy-Putin meeting will occur before 2027. Recent U.S. envoy visits to Moscow and Kyiv in early September produced only an agreement to resume trilateral talks without concrete progress or a summit timeline, while intensified strikes and hardened positions on both sides have sustained the impasse. This aligns with earlier rejections of direct meetings by Russian officials absent finalized terms. A late-2026 breakthrough in the trilateral format, major battlefield shifts, or new U.S.-mediated concessions could still open pathways to a summit in a neutral venue.
