The Côte-du-Sud riding features a tight three-way contest ahead of the October 5, 2026, Quebec general election, with recent projections from Qc125 and Vote-Scope placing PQ, PCQ, and CAQ within a few points of each other. Incumbent Mathieu Rivest of the CAQ seeks a second term amid broader provincial declines for his party, while PQ candidate Valérie Hamel leverages her nursing background to emphasize regional health services and decentralization. PCQ's Frédéric Poulin, a local agricultural producer and repeat candidate, draws support in rural areas focused on taxes and regulations. Nancy St-Pierre of the PLQ trails, and the fragmented field plus late-campaign developments such as debates or turnout shifts among key voter groups sustain the close implied probabilities reflected in trader consensus.
