Recent September 2026 polling shows Marília Arraes (PDT) holding a lead for one Senate seat in Pernambuco, leaving a tight contest for second among Humberto Costa (PT), Mendonça Filho (PL), and Eduardo da Fonte (PP). DataTrends, Datafolha, and Real Time Big Data surveys place the top three or four candidates within a few points, often inside margins of error, reflecting overlapping voter bases and substantial undecided or blank responses near 30-40%. The dual-vote format, where each elector selects up to two senators, sustains volatility as preferences shift between the main contenders ahead of the October 4 first round. No major late endorsements or campaign events have yet produced separation among the second-place contenders.
