Recent disinflation and softening economic momentum have positioned a 25 basis point Selic cut as the market-implied consensus for the November Copom meeting. July IPCA printed at just 0.07 percent, bringing the 12-month rate to 4.44 percent, while August activity indicators and GDP prints showed further moderation. Focus survey projections anchor year-end 2026 Selic at 13.75 percent, with futures and options markets assigning roughly 60 percent probability to another quarter-point reduction. Persistent inflation above the 3 percent target and election-related fiscal risks continue to support the 35.5 percent odds of a pause, keeping the cycle data-dependent amid still-elevated real rates near 9 percent.

Increases or decreases of less than 25 bps will be rounded to 25 bps (e.g. an increase or decrease of 10 bps would be considered to be an increase or decrease of 25 bps). Increases or decreases of greater than 25 bps will be rounded to the nearest 25 bps and will be rounded away from 0 in cases of equidistance (e.g., an increase or decrease of 37.5 bps would be considered to be an increase or decrease of 50 bps).
