This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Louisiana. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Senator from Louisiana, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Louisiana's 2026 U.S. Senate general election on November 3 pits Republican Julia Letlow against Democrat Jamie Davis in a race rated Solid Republican, with forecasts showing Letlow ahead by roughly 20 points.** Trader consensus centers on 1.2M–1.5M total ballots, reflecting Louisiana's historical midterm turnout patterns—around 42% in 2022—applied to roughly 3 million registered voters. Low engagement in the May primary and June runoff (overall turnout near 17% in the latter) signals limited baseline mobilization, while the lopsided matchup may further dampen participation absent strong get-out-the-vote efforts or late catalysts. Key variables include early and absentee voting trends, weather on Election Day, and any last-minute national or state developments that could boost or suppress turnout among core Republican or Democratic blocs. The tight clustering around the 1.3M–1.4M bracket captures uncertainty between typical midterm participation and the race's structural dynamics.
