Incumbent Democratic Attorney General Keith Ellison holds an 83.5% implied probability in the November 3, 2026, general election market, reflecting traders' assessment of his strong primary performance, the office's long Democratic hold since 1971, and Minnesota's partisan baseline in statewide contests. Republican nominee Ron Schutz, who advanced unopposed, sits at 19.5% amid a competitive race centered on enforcement priorities including Medicaid fraud cases and consumer protections. The most recent KSTP/SurveyUSA poll from mid-August showed a statistical tie at 43% each, with 15% undecided, though earlier surveys gave Ellison modest leads. No major developments have shifted positioning since the August 11 primaries, leaving the contest sensitive to turnout patterns, federal policy disputes, and late-cycle messaging on state government accountability.
