This market will resolve to "Yes" if the United States Federal Reserve is formally abolished by December 31, 2026 11:59pm ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the US federal government, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used. The high trader consensus around a "No" outcome for Federal Reserve abolition before 2027 reflects the absence of viable legislative momentum in the 119th Congress. Companion bills such as the Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act (H.R. 1846 and S. 869) were introduced in March 2025 and referred to the House Financial Services and Senate Banking committees, yet neither has advanced beyond initial referral or received floor consideration. Structural requirements for enactment—including passage by both chambers, presidential signature, and a one-year wind-down—face entrenched procedural hurdles, bipartisan institutional resistance to dismantling the central bank framework, and competing priorities such as monetary policy adjustments under Chair Kevin Warsh. Historical precedent shows no comparable measure has cleared committee. Narrow scenarios that could still shift probabilities include an unforeseen economic crisis prompting emergency action or a sudden change in congressional leadership alignment before December 31, 2026.
