Israeli and Lebanese officials signed a US-brokered framework agreement in June 2026 that designates two small pilot zones—one north and one south of the Litani River—for initial IDF redeployment to Lebanese Armed Forces control, with further phased withdrawals tied explicitly to verifiable Hezbollah disarmament rather than fixed deadlines. The security annex conditions any broader pullback on third-party confirmation of cleared militant infrastructure and sustained LAF operational dominance south of the river. As of mid-September 2026, Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir stated that forces will retain forward positions to block Hezbollah reconstitution, while limited LAF confiscations in pilot areas have advanced slowly amid reported coordination concerns. Ongoing artillery and air activity in southern Lebanon, Hezbollah rejection of the framework, and the absence of a comprehensive ceasefire implementation continue to shape trader assessments of near-term withdrawal timelines.

For this market to resolve to "Yes" it is sufficient that Israel announces its ground forces have withdrawn from all Lebanese territory beyond the Litani River, regardless of if some specified territory remains under their control or ground incursions by Israeli forces continue. However, an announcement of a planned or future withdrawal will not suffice.
The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the Israeli government, however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting confirming that Israel has withdrawn may also be used.
