Lula maintains a commanding position in Pernambuco polling for the 2026 first-round presidential vote, consistently registering 54-56% support in recent surveys from AtlasIntel, DataTrends, and Real Time Big Data, well ahead of Flávio Bolsonaro at 25-33% and other names below 5%. This edge stems from the president's entrenched backing in the Northeast, where PT-aligned voters form a reliable base, reinforced by ongoing government approval metrics around 56% in the state. Flávio Bolsonaro's recent campaign stops in Recife have sought to narrow gaps by linking Lula to judicial controversies, yet they have not materially shifted local preferences. The first-round format rewards plurality, and the current 20-plus point margins leave limited room for challengers absent major late developments such as scandals or turnout surprises.
