Persistent tropical moisture and a pattern of scattered to numerous afternoon thunderstorms are the dominant factors capping Miami's September 22 maximum temperature, with official National Weather Service and model guidance pointing to highs in the mid-to-upper 80s amid south-southwest winds of 5-10 mph and 60-80% rain chances. Cloud cover and evaporative cooling from storms limit full realization of potential peak values under high humidity, while any breaks between cells could allow brief warming toward 88-89°F. Recent forecasts show tight clustering around 84-88°F, aligning with the closely matched market-implied odds between the 86-87°F and 88-89°F bins and underscoring model uncertainty in storm timing and coverage. Updated National Weather Service briefings and hourly observations the morning of September 22 will provide the key data releases likely to resolve remaining trader divergence.
