Heavy rainfall and strong northeasterly winds from Typhoon Dujuan, positioned southwest of the Izu Islands and tracking northeast toward the Boso Peninsula, have suppressed daytime heating across the Kanto region on September 21. Official Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts and model consensus project a daily maximum of 24°C amid persistent downpours, with observed temperatures hovering near 23–24°C through the afternoon. This aligns with the market’s strong preference for 24°C (61.5% implied probability) over 25°C (35%), as the typhoon’s cloud cover and precipitation limit solar insolation and keep surface temperatures below seasonal normals of roughly 25–26°C. Updated JMA guidance and radar trends through the evening will determine final resolution.
