**US producer prices are expected to show renewed acceleration in the August 2026 PPI report due out September 10, with consensus forecasts pointing to a 0.4% month-over-month rise and a 5.3% year-over-year increase, up from July’s flat reading and 4.7% annual pace.** This rebound reflects higher goods costs, including energy and industrial materials, amid ongoing Middle East supply pressures on petroleum and elevated tariffs boosting input prices. The ISM Manufacturing Prices Index held near 71 in August, signaling broad raw-material inflation, while core measures are projected to rise more modestly. Markets have priced these dynamics into the 5.1%+ outcome at over 80% implied probability, consistent with the recent shift from July’s softer data and the absence of offsetting disinflationary signals in labor or commodity trends ahead of the release.
