This market will resolve according to the change in the total nonfarm payroll employment reported by the BLS "Employment Situation Summary" for September 2026, scheduled to be released on October 2, 2026, at 8:30 AM ET. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If no data for the specified month is released by the date the next month's data is scheduled to be released, this market will resolve based on data from the last available month. The BLS "Employment Situation Summary" may be found here: https://www.bls.gov/bls/newsrels.htmRecent August nonfarm payrolls of 162,000—well above the 55,000–65,000 consensus—have introduced substantial uncertainty into September expectations, with Polymarket odds reflecting a closely contested range centered on modest gains. Traders are weighing labor-market resilience against potential moderation from seasonal factors, prior-month revisions, and softening demand signals in leisure, hospitality, and government education. Hawkish Fed communications following the print, including elevated odds of a September rate hold or hike amid persistent inflation pressures, have reinforced caution around stronger outcomes. Key near-term catalysts include the September 11 CPI release and the September 15–16 FOMC meeting, which could further shape implied probabilities ahead of the early-October jobs report.
