Gustavo Gayer (PL) holds the strongest position for second place in Goiás’s October 4 Senate election, where voters select two candidates for the state’s Federal Senate seats. A late-August Quaest poll showed Gayer at 12% combined vote intention, clearly ahead of Gustavo Mendanha (6%), Vanderlan Cardoso (9%), and Dr. Zacharias Calil (9%), while trailing only Gracinha Caiado. As a sitting federal deputy with established digital reach and party backing, Gayer benefits from higher name recognition than most challengers in a field of 11 registered candidates. Recent polling stability and the single-round format reinforce trader views that Gayer is the most likely to finish immediately behind the leader, though final margins remain sensitive to late shifts in undecided voters.
