Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and supporting models indicate sunny conditions and a high near 96°F for Houston on September 22, with limited cloud cover and light northerly winds maintaining the warm air mass. Recent observations show persistent above-average heat in the mid-90s amid a stalled frontal boundary that has yet to deliver meaningful cooling, keeping surface temperatures elevated. The narrow spread between 94-95°F and 96-97°F outcomes reflects minor model differences in boundary-layer mixing and dewpoint recovery, while probabilities drop sharply above 98°F due to the absence of stronger southerly flow or subsidence that would support further warming. Updated NWS guidance and afternoon observations on September 21 will provide the final inputs ahead of market resolution.
