Talarico holds a modest edge in trader consensus for Collin County in the 2026 Texas U.S. Senate race due to suburban voter trends in North Texas, where recent polling averages show him competitive or ahead in a county Donald Trump carried by double digits in 2024. Paxton's primary victory over incumbent John Cornyn fractured Republican support and left lingering negatives from intra-party attacks, while Talarico benefits from stronger fundraising and early general-election focus after his Democratic primary win. Heavy outside spending targeting Paxton and negotiations for debates add volatility, with Collin County's shifting demographics and turnout patterns among key factors that could widen or close the gap before November 3.
