Netanyahu's ongoing corruption trial in the Jerusalem District Court remains in the evidentiary phase after the prime minister concluded his testimony in late June 2026 following 98 hearings. Judges have reiterated long-standing concerns about proving the central bribery allegation in Case 4000 and suggested prosecutors consider withdrawing it, though no formal dismissal has occurred and other fraud and breach-of-trust counts persist. Remaining defense witnesses, closing arguments, and a three-judge verdict are still ahead, with defense estimates pointing to potential resolution as late as 2028 amid scheduling constraints and national security demands. These procedural realities underpin trader consensus that conviction is unlikely in the near term.
