Taschereau’s National Assembly race remains closely contested ahead of the October 5 vote, with trader prices reflecting a near-even matchup between incumbent Étienne Grandmont of Québec solidaire and Parti Québécois candidate Christian Savard. The riding’s urban, progressive profile in Quebec City has favored QS since 2018, yet recent provincial polling shows PQ momentum that narrows the gap. Savard’s late nomination, following withdrawals by Jeanne Robin and Vincent Marissal, introduces uncertainty while other contenders including Eliot Estévez-Verville of the Conservatives, Farnell Morisset of the Liberals, and Brigitte Martin of the CAQ split remaining support. Models such as 338Canada currently treat the seat as a toss-up, with outcomes likely to hinge on final turnout and any late shifts in provincial trends before nominations close.
