The closely contested duel between Olivier Faure and Raphaël Glucksmann drives trader pricing for second place in the October 9-10 first round of the Socialist Party presidential primary. Faure’s late-August entry as PS first secretary has narrowed what had appeared a clearer path for Glucksmann, the Place Publique co-president and early favorite, while both candidates spar over primary eligibility rules and potential broadening to figures such as François Ruffin. With formal candidacies still open until mid-September and additional entrants including Philippe Brun, Jérôme Guedj, Ségolène Royal, and Emmanuel Maurel, the field remains fluid. The current distribution of probabilities across these contenders reflects uncertainty over vote consolidation among PS militants and sympathizers ahead of the two-round vote.
