Persistent heavy rainfall and cloud cover across Tokyo on September 21 are maintaining overnight minimum temperatures near 22°C, aligning with the dominant 71.5% market-implied probability for that outcome. Official forecasts from the Japan Meteorological Agency and numerical models indicate lows stabilizing around 22–23°C amid northeasterly winds and high humidity, exceeding the late-September climatological average minimum of approximately 19°C. Recent upstream atmospheric patterns have suppressed radiational cooling, reducing the likelihood of a drop to 20°C or lower despite the season's typical cooling trend. Traders are closely monitoring real-time JMA station data for the day's final recorded minimum, which resolves the market.
