Ro Khanna’s commanding position in the CA-17 race stems from the district’s entrenched Democratic lean in Silicon Valley, where Kamala Harris carried it by more than 23 points in 2024, combined with his status as a five-term incumbent who secured over 62 percent in the June 2026 top-two primary. Multiple forecasters rate the seat Solid or Safe Democratic, reflecting consistent past margins and limited Republican infrastructure. Tandon, a Republican tech executive, advanced but trails sharply in fundraising and name recognition. Trader consensus at 96.9 percent for Khanna reflects these structural advantages ahead of the November 3 general election. A late scandal, health event, or national partisan wave could theoretically narrow the gap, though historical patterns in similar districts suggest such shifts remain improbable.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
