Chiang Wan-an holds a dominant position in trader assessments for the Taipei mayoral race due to his incumbency, established party infrastructure within the Kuomintang, and the absence of competitive challengers who have consolidated meaningful support ahead of the vote. Recent polling trends and local governance record have reinforced this positioning, with limited shifts in the past month from opposition figures or coalition realignments. Scenarios that could still narrow the gap include the emergence of a unified alternative candidate, major policy controversies, or late-breaking developments in cross-strait relations that alter voter priorities before ballots are cast.
