Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Sweden on September 13, 2026. This market will resolve to the next individual who is officially appointed and assumes office as Prime Minister of Sweden following the next parliamentary election. To count for resolution, the individual must officially assume office. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister assumes office by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Sweden; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Sweden’s September 13 parliamentary election remains the dominant driver of trader positioning, with recent Novus and other polls showing the centre-left bloc (Social Democrats, Centre, Greens, Left) narrowly ahead or nearly tied with the Tidö government parties plus Sweden Democrats. Magdalena Andersson benefits from the Centre Party’s explicit preference for her as prime minister candidate and from sustained polling strength for her Social Democrats, the largest single party. Ulf Kristersson’s prospects hinge on whether the right-wing bloc can secure a workable majority, including potential Sweden Democrat ministerial roles, amid tightening margins and the Liberals’ improved showing above the 4% threshold. Smaller-party candidates trail due to limited bloc support and historical patterns of prime-ministerial selection from the largest governing party. Traders price Andersson’s lead as reflecting these pre-election dynamics rather than guaranteed outcomes.
