The Brazilian Federal Senate election for Bahia is scheduled to take place on October 4, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the second-most valid votes of any candidate at the specified election. Candidates will be primarily ranked by order of valid votes won. If two or more candidates are tied for any position, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the candidates’ listed full names as they appear in this market. This market will resolve to the candidate that occupies the second-highest finishing position after applying this ranking. If the result of this election isn't definitively known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the result of the election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Brazilian government, specifically the Superior Electoral Court (Tribunal Superior Eleitoral, TSE) (e.g., www.tse.jus.br/eleicoes/resultados-eleicoes).**Jaques Wagner holds a strong lead for second place in Bahia’s 2026 Senate race at 70.5% according to current market pricing, well ahead of Angelo Coronel (14.5%), Rui Costa (11.8%), João Roma (3.3%), and lower-polling names.** This positioning stems from the latest Real Time Big Data survey (Sept 4–8, 2026), which shows Rui Costa (PT) leading overall consolidated intentions at 26% while the contest for the second seat remains tight. In explicit second-vote preferences, Wagner leads at 20%, ahead of Coronel (16%), with Roma and Costa further back. Earlier August polling from Quaest and others had shown the two PT candidates (Rui Costa and Wagner) more comfortably ahead, but the newest data indicates Roma’s gains have narrowed the gap for second without displacing Wagner. Voters select two senators in a single round on October 4, and the market’s implied probabilities align closely with these second-preference trends and the established strength of the PT slate in the state. No major new developments have emerged since the September 9 poll release to alter this ordering.
