Recent polling from late August shows Esperidião Amin (PP) narrowly ahead of Carlos Bolsonaro (PL) and Carol de Toni (PL) in a race for Santa Catarina’s two Senate seats, with all three within the margin of error and high undecided shares exceeding 30 percent. The contest remains tight because voters select two candidates, allowing vote splitting across right-leaning options after Carlos Bolsonaro’s relocation to the state altered local PL-PP alliances. Décio Lima (PT) trails further back, while minor candidates register negligible support. Trader consensus reflects this narrow gap and the potential for late shifts from undecided voters or turnout differences ahead of the October 4 election.
