This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Governor of Vermont. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Governor of Vermont, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Vermont's 2026 gubernatorial contest occurs in a non-presidential year with roughly 500,000 registered voters, producing historical turnout patterns that cluster near 292,000 ballots cast in the comparable 2022 election. Recent primary participation reached about 22 percent of registered voters—above the 15 percent seen in 2024—driven by a competitive Democratic contest that nominated economist Amanda Janoo over Aly Richards, yet this has not translated into broad general-election mobilization signals. Incumbent Republican Phil Scott holds a commanding position against Janoo, with polling averages showing him ahead by double digits, which traders view as limiting cross-party enthusiasm and get-out-the-vote intensity. With no major national or state-specific catalysts emerging in the past month to alter these dynamics, market pricing centers on the 275,000–325,000 range as the most probable outcome, reflecting steady but unspectacular participation consistent with off-year baselines.
