Eurozone annual HICP inflation for 2026 trades at an 81.3% implied probability of finishing at or above 3.1%, reflecting sustained upward pressure from energy prices amid the Middle East conflict. The June 2026 Eurosystem staff projections placed the annual average at 3.0%, revised higher by 0.4 percentage points from March due to elevated energy and food assumptions, with quarterly peaks near 3.4% expected through year-end. Recent data reinforce this path: the August 2026 flash estimate reached 3.3%, up from 2.9% in July and the highest reading in nearly three years, driven by a 14.3% energy component surge. Professional forecasters in the Q3 2026 SPF anticipate 2.7%, yet market-implied odds embed the risk of further energy-driven upside through the remainder of the year. Upcoming monthly CPI releases and any ECB policy signals on rate adjustments will continue to shape these probabilities ahead of the full-year outcome.
