Recent August CPI data showed an acceleration to 0.8% year-on-year from July's 0.5%, driven by higher energy and transport costs alongside firmer non-food prices, while food deflation persisted amid weak pork and vegetable readings. Core inflation held near 1.0%, reflecting subdued domestic demand and limited pass-through from producer prices. Analysts expect September to register in a similar moderate range, supported by ongoing global commodity influences but tempered by soft consumer spending and services pricing. These trends align with trader consensus favoring 0.7–1.0% outcomes, as base effects and policy signals point to contained annual inflation without broad reacceleration.
