Official National Weather Service observations and forecasts for San Francisco on September 9, 2026, centered on a peak near 92–93°F amid a strong heat wave driven by a southwest ridge of high pressure and subtropical moisture from Hurricane Marie remnants. This setup produced above-normal temperatures, haze, and elevated humidity that suppressed marine layer cooling typical for the region. Market-implied odds reflect near-certainty in this range, consistent with model consensus and station data showing departure from the 75°F September normal. Scenarios that could shift resolution include differences between airport versus downtown stations, final quality-controlled revisions, or rare measurement discrepancies exceeding 1–2°F.
