Trader consensus has solidified around a 70-71°F high for New York City on September 21, 2026, reflecting official NOAA observations from LaGuardia Airport and Central Park stations that recorded a daily maximum in this narrow band. A building Canadian high-pressure system drove northerly flow, suppressing temperatures below seasonal normals of roughly 74°F and limiting daytime warming under partly cloudy skies with light northeast winds. Model guidance and surface analyses aligned closely with this outcome, showing minimal diurnal range amid the stable air mass. An unexpected shift in steering winds or delayed frontal passage could have pushed readings into the low 70s, but post-event verification leaves little room for revision.
