Recent polling in Wisconsin’s 3rd congressional district has shown Democratic challenger Rebecca Cooke holding a narrow lead or statistical tie with incumbent Republican Derrick Van Orden, with a June survey placing her ahead 50-46. Primary elections concluded in August with both candidates securing their nominations, leaving the general election contest focused on issues such as data center regulations and energy costs. Van Orden’s favorability ratings have remained underwater in available surveys, while the district’s mixed partisan composition and recent history as a competitive seat contribute to trader assessments. These factors, alongside race ratings classifying the contest as a toss-up or lean Democratic, underpin the market’s pricing of Cooke as the clear leader ahead of the November general election.
