OpenAI’s September 8 release of ChatGPT Images 2.5 drives the dominant 80.5% market-implied odds, delivering sharper details, up to 50% lower latency, richer textures, and more reliable multi-turn editing plus the new Sketch tool compared with the prior GPT-Image-2. Leaderboards show its Flare and Sunburst variants topping text-to-image and editing arenas, widening the gap over Microsoft’s MAI-Image-2.6, Reve 2.1, Google’s Nano Banana models, and specialists such as Recraft or Ideogram. Traders see the combination of demonstrated capability gains, massive weekly usage, and two-month runway to November as creating a high barrier for competitors absent equivalent verified advances. Lower probabilities for others reflect their current positioning without comparable recent releases.
