Northeast winds and persistent cloud cover from a stationary front and high pressure building from Canada are anchoring NYC's overnight low near 58–61°F on September 22, aligning with the market's heaviest trading on those bins. Official NWS and model guidance show onshore flow moderating temperatures below seasonal normals, with minimal diurnal recovery expected under mostly cloudy skies and light precipitation chances. Recent model runs have held steady on this range, limiting shifts in trader positioning despite minor forecast tweaks. Historical September lows in Central Park average around 60°F, providing context for why probabilities cluster tightly here rather than extending to cooler or warmer outcomes.
